Let's Start With The Easy List

After talking to my husband last night we figured the easiest way to tackle this is to sit down and make a list of thinks that have to be done in each respective house in order for them to be ready to put on the market this time next year. For the purpose of this post lets start with the easiest of three lists being made:

1.) Sit down and make a plan (seems simple right?!) -Check
2.) Sit down with my husband and make a list of the things that have to get done in the Downingtown house that have to be completed to get the most for our money
3.)Sit down with my mother in law and write out a list of things in the West Chester house that have to be completed to get the most for our money
4.) Call Karen to have her take pictures of the Downingtown house and come up with a price point
5.) Call Karen and have her take pictures of the West Chester house and come up with a price point
6 &7.) List both houses
8.) FIND OUR FOREVER HOME!!

Wish us luck!

A New Plan!

So upon coming home and really talking about what we want in a house we decided on a new plan. We knew when we started this that we wanted our forever home to be in the boundaries of three specific schools, and unfortunately that house is not in the MUST range for us. Due to  this fact we developed a completely new plan, literally a completely new one. Instead of refinancing the house we already own in West Chester, we are going to take the next year to tackle a complete to do list in order to get the most for our money and a down payment on a new house. Over the next year we will also be doing minor things in our townhouse and selling that as well, and really take our time looking for our perfect forever home! Wish us luck as we continue and I will continue posting the process from fixing up, to selling, to buying!

A Little Sanity Before I Go Insane!

Despite the title if you read it slowly yes the post title reads correctly. I am currently a very busy, very scatterbrained, overachiever of a mother and teacher. This past weekend my husband and I decided that we were going to bite the bullet and start the process to move into our forever home. This concept scares me hence the creation of this blog, a place I hope will allow me to get all of my anxieties out and not in my head. So me tapping into the overexcited portion of my self quickly started researching homes for sale in our intended area. In order for us to be able to afford said forever home we are having to decide if we will refinance the home that we own in which my mother in law and mom currently live in (SCARY!!!) or sell it completely. With that being said I quickly fell in love with a house that literally sold to someone else in three days....Let that sink in THREE FLIPPING DAYS!! cue sadness number 1 in the journey to our forever. That's ok though I kept looking and found another one that I liked and thought could be a contender and guess what, while it was listed as active on two sites the third site showed us it was under contract, cue sadness number 2 in our journey to forever and guess what ..that one....yep sold in four days *sigh*. With sadness looming over me I looked one more time and after about an hour sitting in front of me on my computer screen was it a house I fell literally IN LOVE WITH! It would be our perfect forever home, literally everything about it is perfect and guess what it is active on all sites! I quickly called my husband and then our realtor to find out what we needed to do and with that got instant anxiety over what has to be done:
1.) We have to list the townhouse we are currently living in
2.) Meet with our financial planner and start the refinance paperwork for the other house we own
3.) Pray,Pray,Pray we find a home that has everything we want
This is where the idea for this blog comes from so I don't know who everyone is, if anyone is reading this, if you are religious or not but please people pray that this all works out!!!! AND join me as we start this journey (hopefully successful) to our forever!
